Sammamish woman dies in hit-and-run accident in Federal Way

A 22-year-old Sammamish woman died after being hit by a vehicle late Thursday night in Federal Way.

Federal Way police responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 33100 block of First Avenue South at about 11:50 p.m. Police reported the vehicle fled the scene.

The victim was visiting a friend at the Cove Apartments, police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said in an email.

No witnesses were at the scene when police arrived. The Major Accident Investigation Team conducted an investigation.
