Federal Way police take part in Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness for Special Olympics

Officers from the Federal Way Police Department took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on June 1 to raise awareness for the upcoming Special Olympics Games, which will take place July 1-6 at sites in the Puget Sound region, including Federal Way. A team from Federal Way ran the torch down Pacific Highway South and was cheered on by supporters along the way. The department raises money for Special Olympics through various fundraisers, including a polar plunge and Tip-a-Cop. In 2017, the department brought in more than $16,000 for the cause.
