Robin Corak has been named chief executive officer for Multi-Service Center, a Federal Way-based human services agency. Corak succeeds Dini Duclos, who retired Dec. 31 after serving 16 years as CEO of the agency.
Corak has held management positions with Multi-Service Center since 2005, the past two years as the agency’s chief operations officer.
During her tenure four years ago as the agency’s Director of Employment and Education, Corak increased the program’s funding from $246,000 to $1.2 million, developed the agency’s most successful employment programs, including a homeless employment program that has been replicated in other agencies, along with the implementation of MSC’s first Youth Services programs.
“I am thrilled to be leading Multi-Service Center into the future,” said Corak in a news release. She started her new position Jan. 1. “This agency has come a long way in its 40-year history, and I intend to continue to advance the agency’s reputation as a results-driven leader in human services not only in South King County, but throughout the region.”
Multi-Service Center, a community action agency with an annual operating budget of $12 million, provides nearly 500 units of transitional and low-income housing throughout South King County and parts of Pierce County. The center operates programs and resources in employment, education, food, clothing and energy assistance. The agency also operates the statewide Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, an advocacy and direct service provider for elderly and disabled adults.
Multi-Service Center employs 75 staff members with offices in Federal Way and Kent, and a small program office in Burien. Last year, Multi-Service Center served more than 57,000 people. Learn more at www.multi-servicecenter.com.
