Road rage leads to gun threat | Federal Way Police Blotter

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Man assaults pregnant girlfriend: At 3:09 a.m. June 14 in the 28800 block of Pacific Highway South, a couple met up to talk about their relationship, but the male got upset and an argument ensued. The boyfriend stole his girlfriend’s cell phone, punched her in the mouth and threw her phone into the bushes before fleeing. The girlfriend is 8 months pregnant.

Toddler found wandering: At 9:04 p.m. June 13 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, an apartment complex employee found a 2-year-old wandering around without an adult. Police learned the child had unlocked the door and wandered out of his home, which two teenagers in the apartment did not realize.

Therapist reports rape: At 3:18 p.m. June 13 in the 30100 block of Second Avenue Southwest, a therapist called 911 to report a 15-year-old girl informed the therapist that she was raped on two different occasions by someone she knows.

Girl reports sexual assault at field trip: At 1:50 p.m. June 13 in the 36200 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a juvenile female from West Linn, Oregon, reported unwanted touching by a known juvenile male suspect while on a field trip to Federal Way. Police are investigating this case.

Missing boat: At 10:12 a.m. June 13 in the 2200 block of South 304th Street, a man reported his paddle boat was stolen while it was tied up on his property at Steel Lake. The man checked the lake for the boat, but he couldn’t find it. He told an officer he believes the thief paddled to the other side of the lake, and it was loaded onto a truck and taken from the scene.

PAEC tools stolen: At 7:04 a.m. June 12 at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S., an unknown person, possibly an employee, propped open the east door for the Performing Arts and Event Center four days ago. This kept the door from closing and locking. Sometime over the night, a suspect entered the building without permission and stole a large number of tools. Police have no leads at this time.

More tools stolen: At 8:48 a.m. June 12 at 1430 S. 330th St., a victim reported an unknown suspect removed tools and work-related items from his locked tool box at a construction site that is secured with a chain link fence. The victim estimates approximately $5,700 worth of tools and items were stolen.

Siblings report father’s sexual abuse: At 10:46 a.m. June 12 in the 300 block of 18th Place South, a juvenile female reported she was among two of her juvenile siblings who was forced by her biological father to commit sexual acts. Police are investigating.

Tools stolen, again: At 10:44 a.m. June 12 in the 32600 block of 39th Avenue Southwest, between 3-7 a.m. the day before, a victim’s vehicle was broken into and multiple power tools were stolen.

Girl bullied at school: At 6:24 p.m. June 12 at 625 S. 314th St., a woman reported her 10-year-old daughter was pushed by another girl while at Mirror Lake Elementary. The girl also told the woman’s daughter she wanted her to die, and she’s been getting messages from a 12-year-old girl on the app “Musically.” The messages are mean and hurtful, she said. The woman reported the incident to school administration but wanted it documented in a police report as well.

Shooting reported at apartments: At 12:14 a.m. June 11 in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, police responded to reports of a man seen shooting between four to six times at a fleeing vehicle in the parking lot of Club Palisades apartments.

Police catch cars racing: At 12:32 a.m. June 11 in the 28700 block of Pacific Highway South, police witnessed vehicles racing on Pacific Highway South. Officers cited one adult and a juvenile, who was referred to King County Juvenile Court.

Knife threat at Walmart: At 3:53 p.m. June 11 in the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South, a suspect pulled out a large knife after a woman bumped the suspect with her shopping cart at the Super Walmart.

Road rage leads to gun threat: At 11:46 p.m. June 11 in the 250 block of South Gateway Center Plaza, officers responded to a road-rage incident involving a gun threat. A man in his girlfriend’s car said a man in a truck got upset when they tried to pass him using the HOV lane and swerved to block their lane multiple times, almost striking their car. He said the driver yelled at them and told them to pull over. He then pointed a gun at the man, and they sped away. The truck continued to follow the couple, however, as they drove toward their home. They went past their home and onto Pacific Highway, where the truck driver finally stopped following them.

Woman tackled, purse stolen: At 1:05 p.m. June 10 in the 33200 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, a 45-year-old woman was walking north on 21st Avenue Southwest when three males approached her from behind, tackled her to the ground and stole her purse. Officers could not locate the suspects, who had fled the scene.

Witness reports child abuse: At 4:46 p.m. June 10 in the 3400 block of 31st Avenue Southwest, a resident resported seeing a neighbor punch a child after putting him/her in a car seat. When police arrived, the suspect was gone.

Police find shell/casings: At 12:26 a.m. June 9 in the 35000 block of First Avenue South, officers found four spent .40 shell casings in three southbound lanes and one in a northbound lane of First Avenue South. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area of Winco and Avery apartments. Police submitted the casings into evidence. With no victims or property damage, the report was for informational purposes only.

Driver identified in hit and run: At 10:05 p.m. June 9 in the 33600 block of Pacific Highway South, a victim reported he was involved in a collision. The victim told police the driver of the other vehicle pulled over but failed to identify himself. He then fled the scene, making the accident a hit and run. Police administered a photo montage of the suspect, and the victim identified him.

Missing person asks for place to sleep: At 9:02 a.m. June 8 in the 29600 block of Ninth Place South, police contacted a man who was knocking on doors, asking to sleep in their homes. Officers confirmed the man was reported as an endangered/missing person and appeared to have a mental disability. He was released, and a friend picked him up.

Man chases girl after school: At 2:56 p.m. June 8 in the 1000 block of Southwest 316th Place, a teacher at Lakegrove Elementary reported her second-grade student encountered some suspicious activity. When police interviewed the girl, she told them a man got our of his large black truck and chased after her while she was walking home from school the day prior. During the interview, the girl said the man was within a foot or two when she first saw him as he got out of his truck. She didn’t know if he followed her to her house. The child’s father was contacted and issued a case number for documentation purposes.

Drunk sleeper arrested on warrant: At 6:41 p.m. June 8 in the 2400 block of South 312th Street, police arrested a drunk man at Steel Lake Park. When they arrived at the park, they found him sleeping on the park’s grass. After he awoke, he admitted to drinking liquor. Police discovered he had an outstanding Sammamish jurisdiction DUI warrant and subsequently arrested.

Threat reported at Burger Express: At 11:11 p.m. June 8 at 32805 Pacific Highway S., a man went to the police station to report a threat made against him. He said while he was working at Burger Express, his coworker’s husband interrupted a staff meeting and told the victim he would kill him in Mexico. The victim thought it was bizarre since he did not know the suspect. He didn’t think the threat would be carried out, but police gave him information on how to obtain a protection order.
