Update: Missing Federal Way woman found in Steel Lake

Inderjit Singh was reported missing Monday, March 26.

UPDATE: Federal Way police report that Inderjit Singh’s body was recovered March 30 in Steel Lake. A citizen had called to report a person floating in the lake around 2:45 p.m. The person was later identified as Singh, 56. The cause of death was reported as suicide by drowning and there were no signs of foul play, according to police.

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a Federal Way woman reported missing Monday, March 26.

According to a media release, the woman, Inderjit K. Singh, 56, was reported missing by her husband, Gian Singh. Gian Singh told police he had not seen his wife since 5:40 a.m. that day. According to a Federal Way Police crime blotter report, Inderjit Singh had left her vehicle, keys, purse and phone at their residence. Inderjit Singh took only her identification. Gian Singh told police his wife has had a history of fainting and falls in the last year. The media release also stated Inderjit Singh had suffered from depression. Officers searched the Singhs’ residence, along with another property nearby, according to the police report. Family members told police her disappearance is suspicious as she is known to be in constant communication with her family.

Inderjit Singh is described as 5 feet, 1 inch tall, and 145 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen at her home, 28930 18th Ave. S., Federal Way.
