The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

“Molotov cocktail” thrown at residence: At 5:20 a.m. on July 6 in the 31000 block of 28th Ave. S., it was reported that the suspect “threw a ‘molotov cocktail’ like device” at the balcony of a residence. The victim believed her ex-boyfriend, who she was in a relationship with for 10 years that recently ended, may have been responsible. The victim indicated she had been receiving threatening/harassing texts and phone calls from the ex-boyfriend. A witness saw a man matching the ex-boyfriend’s description throw the cocktail onto the balcony.

Generator stolen: At 11:12 a.m. on July 6 in the 3000 block of S. 288th St., unknown suspects stole a $500 generator from the victim’s front porch.

Brothers fight: At 6:04 p.m. on July 5 in the 32000 block of Ninth Ave. S., officers responded to a domestic violence call. According to the report, officers discovered that two brothers were in a fight, with one brother the clear aggressor. That brother also destroyed a door by throwing a 10-pound weight through the door. He was arrested.

Daughter discloses secret during fight with mom: At 9:41 p.m. on July 5 at an unknown address, a mother called police to report that her daughter was raped by an “adult cousin” in the last two years. The woman’s daughter disclosed this to her during an argument between them, but would not disclose any further details after the admission.

Weird man reported at pool: At 9:58 p.m. on July 5 in the 1800 block of S. 286th Lane, a “suspicious subject wearing a tiny speedo” was bothering pool users. The suspect could not provide a local known address and his behavior was “strange,” the report notes. The man was asked to leave and did so without incident.

Pit bull attacks owners: At 3:46 a.m. on July 4 in the 2000 block of S. 292nd St., A dog attacked two men after they attempted to extricate their dog from a fight with another dog. According to the report, one of the men became trapped by his dog when it cornered him in a bathroom shower. Police killed the dog to allow the man to exit the bathroom. Upon arrival, the responding officer “walked in the open door and immediately saw blood all over the walls, hallway, back bedroom door and kitchen floor.”

The report notes there were four pit bulls in the home, and that the incident began when the elder male pit bull, known as “Homie,” began attacking one of the younger male pit bulls after the younger dog had attacked a cat. One of the owners then attempted to break up the fight between the two dogs, at which time Homie turned on the owner and latched onto the owner’s arm.

The owner yelled at his wife to get a knife to stab the dog to get it to release. The report notes that the owner’s wife stabbed Homie repeatedly in the neck and face to get the dog to disengage from his arm and that eventually the knife broke. Homie eventually released the owner’s arm but then proceeded to trap the owner’s son in the shower before police killed the dog.

Women stabbed at gas station: At an unknown time on July 4 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway S., St. Francis hospital staff contacted police regarding a 23-year-old female stabbing victim. According to the report, the woman was stabbed at the Arco gas station at Pacific Highway and 272nd Street. The report notes the victim knew her attackers and she also stopped cooperating after divulging the names of her attackers. The victim had “beef” with the attackers dating back to their time in high school.

She indicated that one of the women approached her from the front while the other woman came up behind her and pulled her shirt over her head and then the two began attacking her. The victim indicated that she didn’t really feel anything significant while being attacked.

According to the report, the victim arrived at the hospital with a calm demeanor and asked for pain medication. When pressed as to why she needed the pain medication, the victim didn’t willingly divulge she’d been stabbed until a nurse inspected the areas where she said she was feeling pain.

Storage units burglarized: At 4:13 p.m. on July 4 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway S., unknown suspects broke into three units at a storage facility.

Newlywed couple fights: At 10:21 p.m. on July 4 in the 28000 block of 28th Place S., a woman contacted police regarding her husband. The 61-year-old woman, who is a “mail-order” bride, was upset her new husband wouldn’t stop saying “**** you” to her. The report notes the duo have been married for nine months.

Store robbed at gunpoint: At 12:23 p.m. on July 3 in the 2200 block of SW 356th St., a suspect, described as a black male in his 20s who was wearing all black, entered a business and robbed it at gunpoint of $127. One of the victims said the “male presented a handgun, pointing [it] at the ground.”

The suspect then demanded money, at which time the victim removed $120 from the till and tried to hand it to the suspect. The suspect instructed the victim to put the money on the counter and then asked if there was any more money. The victim proceeded to take $7 from the tip jar and added it to the $120. The suspect then asked if the victim had her driver’s license on her. The victim pretended to look for her license and managed to evade the suspect and fled out of the business.

Teen assaulted: At 8:46 p.m. on July 3 in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway S., a 16-year-old male was assaulted by a group of males, who took his cell phone. The victim was walking up the hill on South 283 Street by Pacific Highway South when a black car pulled over beside him and the suspects exited the vehicle and assaulted him.

The victim indicated that the males asked him what he had in his pockets and if he had any money. One of the males proceeded to punch the victim on the left side of his face, at which time they stole his phone.

Bomb set off in woman’s front yard: At 12:21 a.m. on July 2 in the 500 block of SW 293rd St., a woman reported that unknown suspects detonated a bomb-like device in her front yard. The device only partially detonated but burned a small portion of her yard. Upon further investigation, the device was revealed to be a “sparkler bomb” and the homeowner believed that they didn’t know anyone who would intentionally do this, but rather that it was “kids just acting up.”
