Residents of Federal Way gathered together at the Federal Way Community Center for the 18th annual Best of Federal Way event hosted by the Federal Way Mirror on March 9.

After three businesses were nominated for various categories, Publisher Rudi Alcott revealed the winner.

Community members won prizes in a raffle drawing and enjoyed food from vendors before the awards ceremony.

For the second time, editorial staff presented three Story of the Year awards. The first award presented was given to the Webster family and photographer Stephanie Jarstad, the second was awarded to Centerstage Theatre, and the third was given to Chris Frazier with the Keishindo Martial Science Academy.

Presely Anderson, 8, was chosen as the Citizen of the Year.
