Man killed in shooting at Federal Way gas station identified

Federal Way resident Moisef Vega Mendez, age 37, was shot in his head on Sunday.

A man killed Sunday morning in a shooting at the Chevron gas station parking lot in Federal Way has been identified.

Federal Way resident Moisef Vega Mendez, age 37, died of a gunshot wound to his head, and the manner of his death was a homicide, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Federal Way Police Department is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and could not offer any further information on the case as of Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday at 1650 SW Dash Point Road. Mendez was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, according to police.

There is no suspect information available at this time.
