Gym staff turns in load of cash | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Found property: At 4:09 p.m. Feb. 25 at 35009 Enchanted Parkway, a gym club employee found $980 in cash under a stack of energy snacks. Management attempted to locate the money’s owner, but when no owner was identified, the cash was brought to the police station.

• Vandalism: At 10:25 p.m. Feb. 25 at 32124 25th Ave. S., a witness saw a female break a vehicle’s side mirrors and puncture the vehicle’s tires. The suspect fled the scene.

• False report: At 5:40 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 31000 block of 28th Avenue South, a 15-year-old told her sister she was raped. The sister reported the crime to police before she learned that her sibling had made up the story because she was afraid of punishment for the consensual sex she engaged in with a 15-year-old male.

• Fraud: At 2:55 p.m. Feb. 25 at 1424 S. 320th Street, officers responded to a bank in response to a report of a suspect attempting to cash a forged check.

• Stolen wallet: At 3:04 p.m. Feb. 25 at 34800 21st Ave. SW, a victim reported his wallet stolen. The wallet was left unattended on a table at Northwest Four Square Church. It contained credit cards and cash.

• Racing: At 4:19 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 29500 block of Pacific Highway South, police stopped two drivers that were seen racing their vehicles. The suspects were arrested and later released.

• Pawned property: At 11:50 a.m. Feb. 25 at 33012 Pacific Highway South, a woman pawned property that was stolen in an Auburn burglary.

• Warrant: At 9:43 a.m. Feb. 25 in the 34400 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect was stopped for a traffic infraction. A computer check revealed the suspect had an active felony warrant.

• Deceased: At 7:31 a.m. Feb. 25 in the 32200 block of 1st Avenue South, police found a deceased person in a home. An investigation revealed that the deceased had a history of falling and police believe the subject likely fell and struck his head on a glass balcony door. There were no signs of foul play or evidence of a crime.
