FWPS’s Trise Moore named Leader to Learn From by Education Week

Trise Moore, director of Office of Equity for Scholar &Family Success for Federal Way Public Schools, was recently named one of 14 Leaders to Learn From by Education Week.

As the head of family engagement in Washington state’s Federal Way Public Schools, Moore helps parents navigate a large bureaucracy and puts them at the center of the district’s decision-making, according to leaders.edweek.org.

This is the fifth year that Education Week is recognizing Leaders to Learn From — forward-thinking leaders who are working to enact and inspire change in the nation’s public schools, according to a press release. The award is coupled with an in-depth editorial profile in Education Week, and the 2017 leaders will be honored on March 31 at Education Week’s Leaders To Learn From event in Washington D.C., where they will engage with an audience of K-12 district leaders from around the country to share the strategies they’ve used successfully in their schools. The event will be be live-streamed at http://leaders.edweek.org/.

For its report on outstanding district leadership, Education Week editors chose the 14 leaders from more than 750 nominees submitted by readers, journalists, school administrator groups and others in the education field.
