Free summer meals for youth being offered through August

Children and teens can eat for free this summer with United Way of King County’s Summer Food Invasion.

The organization is partnered with nonprofits, schools and government agencies with the goal of combatting childhood hunger.

Summer meal sites are provided throughout the county at parks, libraries, churches and more, including three sites in Federal Way. They are open to all youth ages 18 and under.

The first Federal Way site is the Boys &Girls Club, 30815 Eighth Ave. S., and offers both breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday. Breakfast is available from 8:30-9 a.m., and dinner is offered from 4-4:30 p.m.

The King County library on First Way is offering free lunch from 12:15-12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. The location is 34200 First Way S.

The final location is the library at 848 S. 320th in Federal Way. Lunch is offered from 11:15-11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday.
