Firefighters investigating cause of Federal Way house fire

South King Fire and Rescue firefighters are still investigating the cause of a house fire that occurred on Oct. 21.

The fire started at a smaller house located at 1600 block of S 333rd Street, which was connected by a carport to a larger unoccupied home. A “couple of cars” were burned, according to South King Fire and Rescue Capt. Jeff Bellinghausen.

A man and his dog were living in the smaller structure, but both escaped unharmed.

The fire extended to the smaller house and was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived at 2:26 a.m., seven minutes after the alarm.

Bellinghausen said due to the extent of the damage, it “may likely remain undetermined.”
