Federal Way police investigating rape allegations against former high school coach

The suspect is not affiliated with any high school in Federal Way, according to police.

Update: Federal Way Police Commander Kurt Schwan recently told the Mirror that the rape allegations have been dismissed, as the victim allegedly provided false information in her statement and later recanted her report.

Federal Way police are investigating a rape allegation against a former high school coach.

An 18-year-old woman reported to police on April 7 that she was allegedly raped by a 39-year-old man after the two of them had consumed alcohol at a Fred Meyer in Federal Way, according to police documents.

The woman told police the man was a former high school coach. Federal Way Police Department Commander Kurt Schwan confirmed the suspect is not affiliated with any high school in Federal Way.
