The Auburn woman who allegedly fled from Federal Way police July 26, crashing into a Fife man’s vehicle and killing him, was charged with second-degree murder Wednesday.
Virginia Christina Ramsey, 36, had two arrest warrants and allegedly had drugs in her vehicle when she attempted to elude an officer who tried to pull her over for driving erratically. Ramsey ran a red light during the police chase.
Her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Douglas W. Simmons III, 40, killing him on Pacific Highway South near Milton. Simmons’ passenger, Holly E. Mattson, 42, suffered critical injuries. Ramsey was also badly hurt.
In addition to the murder charge, Ramsey is being charged with vehicular assault, attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a legend drug and third-degree driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Her arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 5.
