National Stop on Red Week: Police target drivers who run red lights

Federal Way police will employ emphasis patrols the first week of August during the National Stop on Red Week. Police will be watching for motorists running red lights.

Running a red light is considered a serious matter. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Traffic Safety Facts 2008 report, more than 2.3 million intersection-related crashes, resulting in 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries in 2008.
