Police responded to a robbery at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at Easy Espresso, a coffee stand at 2140 SW 356th St., Federal Way.

The male suspect approached the stand and requested the barista make change. She complied. When the woman turned back around, the suspect allegedly brandished a large knife and demanded cash, Lt. John Stieben said.

The suspect, described as a male in his 20s around 6 feet tall, fled the scene on foot. Police conducted a search, using a K-9 unit. The search was unsuccessful.

An employee at the stand reported the robbery. The barista was not injured, Stieben said. Police are uncertain how much money the man escaped with, he said.
