Diver in distress at Redondo Beach

South King Fire and Rescue responded to a diver in distress over the weekend.

The call came in just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday, March 28, for a diver in distress at Redondo Beach.

The 50-year-old woman was brought to the beach by her two fellow divers and when firefighters arrived, they immediately began performing CPR. The woman was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition.

It is currently unknown whether dive equipment, ability or a medical condition contributed to the accident.
