State Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn has released the names of the schools deemed the worst in the nation. There are no Federal Way schools on the list.
There were 47 Washington State schools that were put on a federal list of persistently lowest achieving schools.
Neighboring district Highline did have two schools on the list: Cascade and Chinook middle schools.
Some school districts were hit pretty hard. Mount Adams and Seattle had three, Tacoma had four (Angelo Giaudrone, Hunt, Jason Lee and Stewart middle schools) and Yakima also had four.
Hardest hit was Pasco with seven schools on the list — two middle schools and five elementary schools.
