A baby was ejected from a vehicle around midnight Wednesday when a pickup truck rear-ended a minivan on Pacific Highway South near South 333rd Street.
A 22-year-old female was driving the pickup truck that rear-ended a mini-van containing the baby and her parents. The 2-month-old child was not fastened in a car seat. Police believe the baby girl was out of her car seat while one of her parents fed her, police spokesman Raymond Bunk said.
The baby was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition and is possibly suffering from skull fractures, according to police. She is expected to survive, Bunk said.
The driver of the pickup truck is under investigation for vehicular assault. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident, Bunk said.Contact Federal Way Mirror Reporter Jacinda Howard at email@example.com or (253) 925-5565 ext. 5052.
