House fire displaces family in unincorporated King County

South King Fire and Rescue responded to a residential fire just after 1:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at 5206 S. 344th St. in unincorporated King County.

As fire crews arrived, the house was 50 percent involved with fire, with no occupants in the home. Firefighters had the fire extinguished in less than 30 minutes. The family has made arrangements with their church for living accommodations. There were no injuries to report.

King County Sheriff Fire and Arson Investigation Unit determined the cause to be a heater that was plugged in and left unattended. Damage is estimated to be $350,000.
