Victim shot in foot, then runs away after attempted robbery | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Shot in the foot: At 2:22 a.m. April 5 at 24800 Pacific Highway S., three suspects attempted to rob a person that was walking. The victim was shot in the foot during the incident. He or she fled on foot to St. Francis Hospital.

• Stabbing: At 9:17 p.m. April 1 in the 33000 block of 22nd Place South, police responded to a domestic assault involving a stabbing.

• Bullets strike a vehicle: At 6:41 a.m. April 4 in the 30200 block of 4th Place Southwest, police were called to investigate property damage. A victim’s vehicle was struck by three bullets. One went through the windshield and another went through the door.

• False identity: At 11:55 a.m. April 4 in the 32500 block of 7th Place South, a person reported a Hispanic male in California was using his or her name and Social Security number to obtain employment. The case had already been reported to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

• Shell casings: At 8:14 a.m. April 4 at 33520 21st Ave. S.W., a person found three .45-caliber shell casings near a fuel pump. Nobody at the 24-hour convenience store called about shots fired recently.

• Disgruntled partner: At 6:52 a.m. April 5 in the 200 block of South 346th Lane, a victim reported he believed his partner took his laptop, desk and television, totaling $2,550. The victim did not see his partner steal the items, but said the suspect was mad at him for staying out late.

• Fleeing suspect in theft attempt: At 9:09 a.m. April 5 in the 30600 block of 3rd Avenue Southwest, a suspect was contacted by police in connection with a possible theft attempt. The suspect ran from a witness and police and hid. He or she was verbally aggressive with police.

• Misbehaved dogs and a fence: At 9:42 a.m. April 5 in the 2400 block of Southwest 319th Place, police were dispatched to a call regarding property damage. They found two aggressive dogs attempting to get through a fence. The fence suffered holes from the animals. Police warned the owner to contain the dogs and fix the fence.

• Credit card fraud: At 8:30 p.m. April 5 in the 1000 block of S. 317th Street, a woman reported her son’s credit card was stolen from her purse and an unauthorized charge was made. She suspects a family friend of the crime.

• Fight blamed on pregnant woman’s hormones: At 9:53 p.m. April 5 in the 35400 block of 23rd Avenue Southwest, police responded to a report of verbal domestic violence. The woman at the residence told police she was emotional due to her pregnancy, and she and her boyfriend had gotten into a fight over her eating pudding. She had no signs of injury, nor complained of pain.
