The Federal Way School District reported a case of fraud to the Federal Way Police Department and the state auditor's office.

The call was made to police at 5:18 p.m. Feb. 20, with the call being logged in as "embezzlement."

A police report is not yet available.

"The district identified a case of suspected fraud and notified the state auditor," spokeswoman Diane Turner said.

The school district cannot comment further on the case because it is an ongoing and active investigation.

Police have said that the suspect is not a district employee, but rather a contracted worker.

The Mirror will update this story as more information becomes available.
