King County Executive Ron Sims was nominated Monday by President Barack Obama for a spot with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The Senate, as of Feb. 2, had yet to confirm the nomination. If Sims is accepted to the second-in-command position he will oversee 8,500 workers and manage a roughly $39 billion budget, according to the Associated Press. He will be expected to address the nation's home foreclosure epidemic.
