Missing elderly woman found uninjured

Police located, at 5 p.m. Jan. 13, the elderly woman who went missing about 3 p.m. Jan. 12.

Maria Lopez-De-Guardado, 77, wandered away from the home she shares with her family near 3001 South 288th Street. Neighbors saw the woman heading toward the area of 28900 Military Road shortly after she left her home. She was reported missing when she did not return.

An area search for, Lopez-De-Guardado, who suffers from dementia, was conducted by a Normandy Park Police Department bloodhound, but was unsuccessful. She was found at a friend's residence in the same mobile home park where she resides. The friend was unaware police were searching for Lopez-De-Guardado. The missing woman was found uninjured and returned to her family.
