Police are asking the public for assistance in locating an elderly woman who went missing about 3 p.m. Monday.

Maria Lopez-De-Guardado, 77, wandered away from the home she shares with her family near 3001 South 288th Street. Neighbors saw the woman heading toward the area of 28900 Military Road shortly after she left her home.

Lopez-De-Guardado is described as Hispanic, 4-foot 10-inches tall, weighing 113 pounds with long gray hair. She was last seen wearing a blue sweater and light blue dress with black knee-high boots. An area search was conducted by a Normandy Park Police Department bloodhound, but was unsuccessful.

Lopez-De-Guardado has mental health issues but does not require medication. Anyone with information pertaining to her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
