South King Fire and Rescue firefighters extricated a driver and his passenger, who became trapped in a vehicle during a rollover crash on Friday evening in Federal Way.

The 78-year-old driver attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of First Avenue South and South 330th Street on a flashing yellow signal, according to the police report. The driver collided with another vehicle after the 78-year-old failed to yield to the driver.

The force of the collision caused the 78-year-old's Chevy Trailblazer to roll over on its driver’s side and rescue crews had to extricate the man and at least one other passenger from the vehicle, the report continues. The occupants were transported to St. Francis Hospital with minor injuries.

The 38-year-old Auburn man in the second vehicle was injured. Both cars were severely damaged and rendered inoperable, according to the report.
