The Federal Way City Council will hold a special meeting Monday, Feb. 24, to address the release of applicant information for the vacant Council Position Number 1.

The city is responding to requests from the community to reconsider the current schedule for releasing applicant information.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Federal Way City Hall, 33325 Eighth Ave. S.

On Feb. 11, the city announced the names of the 20 applicants for the open position. Applicant information was scheduled to be released on March 1, when the Council is meeting to interview applicants. At the meeting on Feb. 24, the Council will review the sections of the applications that may be disclosed under state law and determine whether to revise the timetable for releasing information.

The March 1 special City Council meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and include interviews of all 20 Council applicants. Residents are invited to attend the meeting in Council Chambers at City Hall. More information is available at www.cityoffederalway.com/councilapp.
