2013 primary election candidate forums in Federal Way

The Federal Way Mirror is hosting candidate forums for contested races in the 2013 primary elections. Debate will run 6 to 8 p.m. July 31 at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Primary election races include:

• Federal Way School Board position 4: Kenneth Lance Barton, Carol Gregory, Medgar Wells

• Federal Way City Council position 2: Kelly Maloney, Mark Koppang, Anthony Murrietta

• Federal Way City Council position 6: Diana Noble-Gulliford, Martin Moore, Ryan Miller

The primary election is Aug. 6. Ballots will be mailed to voters on July 17.

General election forums

In October, The Mirror will host two forums for the general election candidates in races for school board, city council, South King Fire board, Lakehaven board and mayor.

Event 1

6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. Moderated by Dr. T.M. Sell of Highline Community College

• South King Fire and Rescue position 1: Bill Gates and Jerry Galland

• Lakehaven Utility District position 2: Don Miller and Anne Marie-Harkness

• Federal Way School Board position 1: Ed Barney and Geoffrey McAnalloy

• Federal Way School Board position 4: Top two finishers in August primary

Event 2

6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23 at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. Moderated by Dr. T.M. Sell of Highline Community College

• Federal Way City Council position 2: Top two finishers in August primary

• Federal Way City Council position 4: Jeanne Burbidge and John Fairbanks

• Federal Way City Council position 6: Top two finishers in August primary

• Federal Way Mayor: Skip Priest and Jim Ferrell
