Lakehaven Utility District Commissioner Dick Mayer has announced his resignation after 12 years in the elected post.

Mayer’s resignation takes effect next Monday. Plans for replacing him haven’t been announced.

At the commissioners’ April 13 meeting, Mayer said he would be moving to eastern Washington.

The other commissioners commended Mayer’s service with a formal resolution Thursday, stating he “carried out the duties required of him with dedication and enthusiasm” and gave “capable service to the ratepayers of the district.”
