Jason Eric Cox, 34, of Federal Way pleaded innocent April 16 to charges of second-degree child rape and several child pornography charges.

Cox was arrested at his Kent workplace April 1 on suspicion he lured a 13-year-old Texas girl to Washington via the Internet, engaged in sexual activity with her and took photographs of her.

Federal Way Police responded to his apartment to help the girl after she called the hotline for the National Center for the hotline for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She has returned to her home in Texas.

During a search, police said, they removed several items from Cox’s apartment, including his personal computer and several pornographic pictures of children.

Cox’s next court hearing is scheduled for May 2.
