Grants awarded to 320th Library

The King County Library System Foundation awarded more than $29,000 in grants to the King County Library System and local Friends of the Library groups for outreach and literacy programs for 2002.

The Federal Way 320th Library will benefit from grants awarded to Study Zone, a new after-school program that teams volunteer tutors with fifth- through eighth-grade students; HoLA, a program to introduce library services to Spanish-speaking families; and Mad Science, a weekly science program for younger-school-age students.

Chamber luncheon today

Federal Way Chamber of Commerce’s membership luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Weyerhaeuser-King County Aquatic Center.

“Health and Wellness” is the theme of the luncheon, featuring Dr. Phil Spencer of Spencer Chiropractic Center, Dr. Keith Paige of Virginia Mason, and a speaker from St. Francis Hospital.

New time, location for Leads Club

Leads Club, a relationship-based network marketing organization, will meet at a new time and location every Wednesday. It’s now meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Federal Way.
