Q&A: FW fire commission candidates share views/Question 1
Fire commissioners are entrusted to ensure the taxpayers money is spent appropriately while maintaining the most appropriate training, equipment and facilities are available to protect the people of the fire district. This is done by evaluating equipment needs, examining new technology and working with the firefighters, administration and other commissioners to determine what is most appropriate, within our budget constraints, to the needs of our district.
The fire commissions most important responsibilities are representing the people of Federal Way by having the knowledge to make the right decisions to maintain the quality of service we now enjoy, and prioritizing items within the budget to see that service is maintained and improved for the future.
