Man found near Palisades Retreat was murdered

"Federal Way police are seeking information about a man found murdered Tuesday in the driveway to Palisades Retreat.Police especially want to talk to people who came into contact with the 35-year-old man, who has been identified as Scott Harry Krausz of Bothell, within the last couple of months.Krausz died of strangulation, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office. An employee at Palisades Retreat discovered Krausz's body about 100 yards north of Southwest Dash Point Road when he arrived for work about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, said police spokesman Brett Hatfield.Officers recovered Krausz's van, a burgundy, 1988 Dodge Caravan, Tuesday evening in the parking lot of Shari's Restaurant, 34900 Enchanted Parkway S. They are examining the van - license plate 151 BSN - for evidence, Hatfield said. When he was found, Krausz, who was a welder by trade, was wearing a gray, hooded, zipper-front sweatshirt with a Familian Northwest logo over the left breast, a white T-shirt with bsquare on the left breast, light-colored blue jeans and brown hiking boots, Hatfield said.Krausz is a white male, 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.Police seek the public's help in determining the man's whereabouts and activities during the past two months because he's had limited contact with family members during that time, Hatfield said. Officers are interested in anyone who may have seen his van within the last two months. The family isn't able to provide a lot of information about friends and his personal life, he said. Therefore we're trying to contact people who have been dealing with him.Anyone with information is asked to call 661-4588 or 661-4740. "
