Police shoot aggressive dog

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 4:07 p.m. May 21, police responded to a report of a possibly aggressive dog at 4231 S.W. 328th Court. Police located and shot the dog, killing it, after the animal aggressively lunged at an officer.

• At 2:36 a.m. May 21, police were dispatched to Steel Lake Park, 2410 S. 312th St., where they found several subjects drinking alcohol near the restrooms. The subjects were released to family members.

• At 8:56 a.m. May 21, a nurse was placed on administrative leave at 135 S. 336th St. An audit was conducted shortly following. Discrepancies were found in the distribution of medication for the nurse’s patient. The nurse reported the wrong information was mistakenly logged on the patient’s chart.

• At 9:52 a.m. May 21, two parents brought their son to the hospital in pain from an arm injury. An X-ray revealed the pain was caused from a spiral fracture. Statements from the parents did not explain the injury and Child Protective Services was called. The child was removed from the custody of his parents and released to the sister of one parent. This case is pending an investigation.

• At 2:19 p.m. May 21, officers responded to 1901 S. Commons were two subjects were reported to possibly be carrying a gun inside The Commons mall. Mall security and police determined the weapon was a toy. Police discovered one subject had a warrant for malicious mischief; the suspect was transported to jail.

• At 3:48 p.m. May 20, police responded to a domestic violence call at 29050 18th Ave. S. The suspect was taken into custody and further investigation resulted in charges of a stolen firearm and unlawful imprisonment against the suspect.

• At 2:20 p.m. May 19, two victims reported that a check in the amount of $1,400 was exchanged with an unknown seller of an English Bulldog. The buyers had located the animal on the Internet, but never received it from the seller. The check was cashed.

• At 3:02 a.m. May 18 at 27606 Pacific Highway S., a couple got into an argument and the suspect stabbed the victim, causing minor injuries.

• At 5:41 p.m. May 18 at 713 S.W. 353rd Place, a man called to report the word “chink” had been spray-painted on neighborhood mailboxes. The man told police several Asian Americans lived in that block. No evidence or suspect information was gathered.

• At 8:19 p.m. May 18 at 2109 S.W. 336th St., a suspect stole $12 worth of groceries. The suspect was discovered to have a no-bail warrant out of Vancouver, Wash., and was booked into the King County Jail and arranged for transport to Vancouver.

• At 2 p.m. May 17 at 2121 S.W. 356th St., officers responded to a fight in progress. Suspect one was angry and trying to assault a second suspect. Police ordered the first suspect to cease actions and leave the premises. The suspect then tried to assault an officer and was tased without injury.

• At 3:08 p.m. May 17, two adults were cited for possession of fireworks. One suspect was arrested for driving without a license in the second degree and the vehicle was impounded.

• At 11:21 a.m. May 16, a victim left an iPod at the gym at 32818 1st Ave. S. The victim called to located the device later that same day and was told by an employee that the iPod was in the lost and found. The victim returned the next day to retrieve the possession, but was then told it could not be located.
