From staff reports:
Federal Way's St. Francis Hospital and two of its physicians were named Centers of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) and COEMIG designees by the AAGL and Surgical Review Corporation.
The COEMIG program distinguishes surgeons and facilities that demonstrate an unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based and coordinated care.
At St. Francis, physicians who earned the honor were Susan Johnson, MD, and Myong Roe, MD.
St. Joseph, another hospital in the Franciscan Health System, was also honored alongside seven of its physicians.
“Women’s services have grown more advanced and specialized over the past 10 to 15 years. 'Minimally invasive surgery' isn't just a catch phrase, it is a proven surgical option for women that will provide the lowest risk of complications along with the fastest recovery times. This award demonstrates both the physicians’ and hospitals’ commitment to providing safe, high-quality care. We are truly raising the bar for the overall patient experience,” said Cindy Mosbrucker, MD, medical director for the COEMIG program in a news release.
“Achieving COEMIG designation assures patients that these facilities and physicians have demonstrated excellence in minimally invasive gynecologic techniques to improve their health and well-being.”
