Air Force JROTC students win
Students in the Federal Way High School Air Force ROTC won first place in the Colonel Joe Jackson Invitational drill and strength team competition. Five local high schools competed in the event. They were judged on Air Force knowledge and athletic prowess.
Chorale scholarships
Aimee Hong, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School and Caitlin Kolas, a senior at Todd Beamer High School, both recently received scholarships from the Federal Way Chorale. Hong and Kolas will each receive $1,000 to help them pursue the study of music at a college of their choice.
Marine science
The Summer on the Sound Marine Science Camp, hosted by Highline Community College, is accepting applications from students ages 11-13 who are interested in learning more about marine biology. The free camp will run 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 14-18. Application deadline is May 30. An application form is available at http://flightline.highline.edu/mast/SummerCamp.htm.
