Expect overnight lane closures on I-5 in Federal Way

Expect nightly lane closures on northbound I-5 near SR 18 in Federal Way this week.

Crews will be doing some painting on the bridges as part of the finishing touches for the new ramps that opened to traffic last year, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Between Monday, Jan. 14, through the morning of Friday, Jan. 18, up to three right or left lanes of northbound I-5 at SR 18 will closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for bridge painting work.

When the right lanes of northbound I-5 are closed, the northbound I-5 exit to westbound SR 18 will also be closed. A detour will be provided.

WSDOT does not expect construction to affect traffic on SR 18.
