Federal Way police pursuit ends with crash

At about 4:30 a.m. Jan. 7, a Federal Way officer spotted a stolen vehicle traveling southbound on 21st Avenue SW from SW 320th Street.
The officer followed the vehicle into the Twin Lakes neighborhood, and a pursuit began after the vehicle accelerated rapidly, according to police.
In a pursuit at "moderate speeds," the vehicle turned eastbound off SW 342nd Street and lost control, according to police. The vehicle jumped the curb near 37th Avenue SW and crashed head-on into a Federal Way K-9 officer's patrol vehicle, causing moderate damage. The officer was not injured, according to police.
Two occupants were arrested without incident, according to police. The passenger, a 25-year-old female from Federal Way, was interviewed and released. The driver, a 27-year-old man from Kirkland, was booked into King County Jail. He faces charges for possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding law enforcement. Official charges have not been filed at this time, according to police.
