Elderly pedestrian dies from injuries a day after accident

An elderly pedestrian died a day after she was hit by a vehicle in Federal Way.
The incident occurred about 5:21 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of South 312th Street, according to Federal Way police. Kyong Sun Yi, 82, was taken to Harborview Medical Center. She died of her injuries at 11:25 p.m. Dec. 18.
The driver was not injured. The westbound portion of the road was closed for more than three hours. The department's Major Accident Investigation Team worked on the case.
Police report no initial suspicion of drug or alcohol involvement by the driver or pedestrian. No criminal charges are being considered at this time, according to police.
