It’s time to chip those trees

If you haven’t gotten rid of your Christmas tree yet — the Halloween pumpkin blocking the door? — you have a couple of great options that will help benefit the community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley is doing a tree-chipping event at the Cowichan Valley Bottle Depot on Norcross Road Jan. 6 and 7.

The cost is a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley.

Another tree-chipping venue will be held in the Cowichan high school parking lot, Jan. 6 and 7.

Donations are also accepted there with the proceeds going to the 2007 Dry Grad festivities.
