Star Lake Elementary sets spring cleaning example

By MARGO HORNER

Yard work is rarely as exciting as it was last week for students at Star Lake Elementary School.

Friday, June 1, was the first ever all-school Spring Cleanup Day. Working in shifts, students headed out into the sunny afternoon to pull weeds, sweep and collect trash littering the campus.

The school Eagle Leadership Team and PTA worked together to plan the event. For their participation, each student received an Otter Pop frozen treat.

As the clock neared the 1:15 p.m. starting time, students could barely contain their enthusiasm.
