No arrests in July 27 shooting
No arrests in shooting
About 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, police responded to a shooting in the 800 block of SW 308th Street in Federal Way.
Police found a man lying outside his vehicle when they arrived at the scene, police spokeswoman Stacy Flores said. The 31-year-old male was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries as a result of a single gunshot wound, she said.
A K-9 unit was called in from the Renton Police Department to track two possible suspects, both white males seen walking in the area at the time of the shooting. As of July 30, the suspects had not been captured. The witness who saw the suspects reported hearing the gunshot, then seeing the men flee the area, Flores said. A motive for the shooting has not been determined, Flores said. The Federal Way Criminal Investigation Section is looking further into the crime. Police encourage anyone with information about the shooting to call 911.
Pleasant weather complements Salmon Bake
The Federal Way Kiwanis hosted the 51st annual Salmon Bake on July 27 at Steel Lake Park. This major fundraiser featured plenty of food and entertainment for the whole family. The Kiwanis served 625 salmon meals and about 200 hot dog meals. Along with a raffle, the event brought in about $13,000, said president Steve Smith. Proceeds benefit the community. As Kiwanis member John Hoskinson said, We treat it as a community picnic. To learn more, visit www.federalwaykiwanis.org or call (253) 529-7020.
