Mirror staff reports:

Federal Way police are seeking a suspect accused of almost shooting a 1-year-old child.

A felony warrant has been issued for Dvontaveous Hoston, who is wanted on charges of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

On Oct. 15, Hoston was visiting his girlfriend's apartment in Federal Way. According to police, the suspect discharged a handgun during an argument with another occupant, and the bullet almost struck the child in a bedroom.

The pistol was identified as a “rusty chrome .38 caliber” and was not recovered, according to police.

The suspect's whereabouts are unknown. Hoston stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 156 pounds. Police say Hoston is armed and dangerous, and has a past conviction from a felony firearms arrest in Seattle.

Hoston also made headlines in the past for a lawsuit against the city of Seattle, stemming from a 2010 incident in which he was kicked by a police officer.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Federal Way Police Det. Matthew Leitgeb at (253) 835-6783 or matthew.leitgeb@cityoffederalway.com.
