Math team takes first

The Thomas Jefferson High School math team won first place in the overall sweepstakes at the Mu Alpha Theta State Math Contest. The following students were recognized at the event: Woosek Lee, Daniel Ahn, Barbara Jun, Patrick Clay, Douglas Chung, Jonathan Park, Keely Rasmussen, Kevin Suh, Brian Hunter, Esther Kim, Richard Baik, Victoria Lofdahl, Averi Kitsch, Josh Pahang, Jason Allmaras, Kevin Park, Stephanie Reagle, Brian Cheng, Bailey Warrior, Samantha Pham, Ari Schumer, Tyler Huxtable, Jonathan Wu, Jayson Gaspay, Viren Govindareju, Josh Lee, Justin Yi, Alexa Tavasci, Simon Cramer and Joe Lee.

Medical program

Students who will complete the eighth grade this year are invited to participate in a free Health Adventures summer program at St. Francis Hospital. The program introduces youths to a variety of career opportunities in health care through guided visits to different departments at St. Francis and activities. The Health Adventures Program will run from 4 to 7:30 p.m. each day from July 7-10. Call (253) 944-4176.

SAT review

DeVry University will host a free SAT review for high school students from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. April 19 at DeVry University, 3600 South 344th Way. Enterprise fundraiser

The Enterprise Elementary School PTA will host an ESCAPE charity auction at 6 p.m. April 26 at the Centre at Norpoint in Federal Way. Funds raised will benefit the Accelerated Reader reading program and repairs to playground equipment.
