Driver injured when vehicle strikes pole and starts fire

Mirror staff reports:

Federal Way police report that a driver suffered life-threatening injuries in a late-night single vehicle collision.

The incident occurred at 12:55 a.m. Oct. 4 near the 800 block of SW Dash Point Road. Police say the vehicle left the road and struck a pole. The collision caused a fire in the brush, and the driver was initially trapped in the vehicle, police report.

South King Fire and Rescue was on the scene, along with the police department's major accident investigation team. The road was closed at the location for several hours. The driver's current condition is unknown at this time.
