Mirror staff reports:

The new ramp from State Route 18 to State Route 161 opened today in Federal Way.

The ramp is part of the triangle project to ease traffic congestion at Interstate 5, SR 18 and SR 161.

The new ramp takes drivers across I-5 with an exit at Enchanted Parkway South, near Wild Waves Theme Park.

In July, the new flyover ramps at I-5 and SR 18 opened in Federal Way, six months ahead of schedule. More than 20,000 vehicles are expected to use the ramps daily.

With a price tag of $112 million, the triangle project's original completion date was April 2013. Mowat Construction broke ground on the project in August 2010.
