Grading system: Federal Way schools influence Tri-Cities

A report in the Tri-City Herald discusses the trials and tribulations of standards-based grading in Kennewick schools.

Apparently, that district is following the lead of Federal Way Public Schools, which generated its fair share of frustration and controversy over the new system. The Herald's report says Kennewick educators visited the district to see how Federal Way administrators put their system in place. Click here to read the Herald's report.

Federal Way implemented the system to improve the district’s graduation rates, and help ensure that Federal Way students are prepared for the next level in their academic career, whether it’s a four-year college or a technical program.
