Spring is just around the corner — and it's snowing.

As of mid-morning Tuesday, nearly an inch of snow has coated Federal Way, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are about 33 degrees, with an expected high near 42 degrees. The snow is sticking, leaving slush on roads and parking lots. Rain showers are predicted for Tuesday night and into Wednesday, March 14.

By the end of the day Tuesday, the snow had melted.

The Tacoma area has received about 1.5 inches of snow Tuesday, with about 2 inches reported in Thurston County.

Federal Way schools will remain open. School officials are monitoring road conditions and weather reports.
