Federal Way garbage collection make-up dates
January 23, 2012 · 3:25 PM
From staff reports:
Due to last week's winter storm, garbage collection was postponed in Federal Way. According to the city, Waste Management will collect double loads at no extra charge on this week's regular service dates:
• Jan. 18 make-up collection will be Jan. 25
• Jan. 19 make-up collection will be Jan. 26
• Jan. 20 make-up collection will be Jan. 27
It is recommended that residents place their garbage at the curb on the morning of collection, rather than the night before, in order to avoid potential messes caused by animals such as dogs and birds.
For smaller yard debris (such as leaves and twigs), use a spare garbage can clearly labeled “yard waste” or your regular yard debris cart, or use heavy-duty paper bags. Tree branches should be cut and bundled with natural twine in bundles no larger than the approximate size of your yard waste cart. Weight limit is 65 pounds per bundle, and branches should be less than 4 inches in diameter. Do not use plastic bags for yard debris. Plastic bags will be assumed to contain garbage subject to standard extra set-out fees.
