City cancels public meeting on parks plan

Federal Way's Park and Recreation Department has cancelled its Jan. 5 public meeting regarding a revised parks plan. A rescheduled meeting date has not been determined.

The revision to the parks plan is part of a state law that requires cities to update them every six years. The city's current plan expires in June. The new plan will include new parks added since the city's last plan six years ago, and also will incorporate new census data.
